Located 11kms from Melbourne’s CBD, Brighton East is wonderfully relaxed suburb in Melbourne’s much coveted inner southeast.

The suburb ranks high on the liveability scale with its access to Port Phillip Bay beaches and its many parks. In fact, parkland covers 13 per cent of the suburb, amongst them Dendy Park, one of the ten largest in Victoria.

Nearby shopping strips along Hampton, Church and Bay Streets provide access to boutique retailers, cafes and restaurants while Dendy Park Tennis club and Brighton Golf Club are ever popular recreational spots.

The leafy surrounds and range of local private and public schools means that Brighton East is popular with families with children. Census data indicates that families with children make up 54% of residents living in the suburb.

The demand for large family homes has seen prices push well beyond the million dollar mark. In fact, in the 12 months to October 2016, 149 out of 165 houses in Brighton East sold for over $1.25 million. In October 2016, the median monthly sale price for a house jumped above $2 million for the first time.

With its demographic make-up, demand in Brighton East has typically been for 3 and 4 bedroom houses, however units in the suburb also popular with the median sale price for a unit growing 7.7% in the three years to October 2016, with a median unit sale price over that time being $868, 000.
